PMO Delivery Manager

As part of the IT Department, the role holder will work within the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) and will manage projects delivered by the PMO to support the delivery of the IT Strategy. The PMO is primarily focused on facilitating the successful delivery of the IT Strategy and the projects identified in the strategy.

About the role

The role holder will work closely with the operational side of the organisation and internal business functions as a representative of the IT Department and the PMO in order to deliver best use of technology investments. The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage the delivery of a portfolio of projects according to the standards and expectations of the PMO
  • Prepare and maintain project delivery documentation such as user/operational requirements, delivery plans, effort planning, routine reports and budgets
  • Develop and maintain project delivery plans and reporting documentation to ensure timely communication and successful delivery of assigned projects
  • Ensure project delivery is planned and executed in-line with the PMO methodology:
    • Team roles and responsibilities
    • RAID identification and management
    • Requirement definition and acceptance
    • System and User Acceptance Testing
    • Deployment planning, management and transition to live operation
    • Training needs analysis (as needed) to support transition to live operation
    • Communication
  • Ensure detailed operational requirements are produced and included in each work package for acceptance by the Product Owner
  • Ensure business benefits can be realised and that risks inhibiting realisation are highlighted
  • Coordination of internal colleagues and external service providers as necessary to meet project delivery timescales
  • Ensure areas of continuous improvement are identified and embedded in the PMO
  • Provide PMO support as necessary to business initiatives and change projects

About you

The successful applicant will have:
