AtDimensions, we believe that everyone deserves a fulfilling life and that includes our staff. We’re currently looking for Relief (Bank) Support Workers to join our teams in Darlington and Stockton, working flexibly across  supported living homes

You will need to be caring, ambitious, thoughtful and kind.  Relief work offers ultimate flexibility - with no obligation to accept shifts you can fit your work around your personal commitments.  Rather than accruing annual leave this is paid on top of your hourly rate as you work.  Whether you have supported people with learning disabilities before or you are looking for a change of career, we would love to hear from you.  It is a great footstep into the healthcare sector.

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Encourage independence and engagement in activities, such as social outings, clubs, football, cinema, meeting friends and family, bowling, sensory rooms, swimming, horse riding, hiking, bike rides, day trips, going to the theatre, holidays, retail therapy, and spa days and going to the gym!
  • Support individuals who may experience behaviours of distress or self-injurious behaviour and require a positive behaviour support approach, where consistent and familiar faces are key.
  • Full training will be given around behaviours of distress, however previous experience preferred but not essential.
  • The candidates are required to follow robust care plans and risk assessments in place also having an understanding and some knowledge of Mental Health Act and Depravation of liberty.
  • Provide person-centred care and support with daily living tasks, assist with daily independence such as personal care, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, and laundry, planning activities, events, and supporting with medical appointments.

Shift Patterns:

Sleepovers typically start at either 9.00am or 15.00, going to sleep around 22.00/23.00 then beginning the day around 7.00 finishing at 09.00.

Some homes we provide support to have day shifts, this maybe 8.00-16.00, 08.00-18.00 08.00-20.00, 15.00-18.00 15.00-21.00 however these may fluctuate appropriate depending on the individuals needs and plans for the week.
Flexibility required to cover appointments and additional support needs

Requirements:

  • A caring and proactive attitude
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts across the darlington and stockton area
  • A driver with access to a car is preferred
