Relief Support Worker – Bricket Wood, St Albans
Are you experienced in supported living and looking for a flexible role where no two days are the same? Join our dedicated team in Bricket Wood, supporting adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex behavioural needs in a newly refurbished home of flats and bungalows.
We’re looking for Relief Support Workers who can step in when needed, whether that’s covering shifts, supporting new referrals, or helping people we support through life’s transitions. You’ll need some prior experience in healthcare or social care, and it’s especially helpful if you’ve supported people with behaviours of distress before.
This is a complex supported living home, home to nine individuals aged 22 to 57. They’re active, adventurous, and full of personality, whether it’s swimming, sailing, horse riding, cinema trips, or thrill rides at theme parks. You’ll need to be active, confident around computers and social media, and comfortable supporting people with a wide range of interests and needs.
Support includes personal care (sometimes complex personal care), medication, and helping people navigate everyday life, from cooking and cleaning to holidays and church visits. You’ll also be trained in SKIP (strategic interventions for behaviours of distress) before starting shifts, so you feel confident and prepared.
