As a lead Support Worker, you will will assist the locality manager and assistant locality manager in maintaining a high quality of support, acting as a role practitioner, coaching and mentoring support workers and relief Support Workers to ensure the people supported achieve the outcomes identified within their support plans.

You work across two services in Bournemouth. The first home supports two gentleman, aged in their 40s and 50s, to live the life they chose. They get involved in many activities including swimming, going on walks, doing puzzles, arts and crafts and like sensory toys. They both have epilepsy which is controlled, have non-verbal communication and you will need to be able to push them in their wheelchairs within their homes and out in the community.
The second home 
involves supporting a Gentleman in his 30's who has epilepsy and profound learning disabilities. He likes to give staff cuddles and for them to rub and pat his back to meet his sensory needs. He is a very active person and enjoys going out many times through the day.  He likes lots of sensory stimulation when at home so enjoys listening to nursery rhymes and playing with sensory toys.  Pre-Covid, he goes trampolining and swimming (2:1) and enjoys day trips out with his staff.  He will need staff who are proactive in taking him out regularly through the day, whether this is for a planned activity or for a walk in his wheelchair or a drive in his car.  You Must be prepared to go out in all weathers!

Shift patterns - These will vary on a weekly bases. (7am - 3pm / 2pm - 10pm / long days / alternate weekends and bank holidays.
