Support Workers - Male

£10.45 per hour

Newcastle

Full UK driving licence essential

Start your day knowing you’ll make a difference - we're looking for Male Support Workers to join our team in Newcastle and create a positive difference that improves life for the people we support!

You will be joining our fantastic team of support workers in the NE5 area where we currently support a young man within his own home. Your role will be to support him with daily routines that include medication administration, meal preparation and domestic tasks, as well as supporting and facilitate participation in activities of his choice.

This young man has autism and requires a support team that are patient, kind, calm and resilient. It’s likely that he will display behaviour that others may find distressing so we’re looking for support workers with previous experience of behaviours that distress, or people who are committed and willing to learn, so that we can support him in the best way possible.

This young man is supported 2:1 during the day.  Shifts may vary but it’s most likely that a full shift will be 9am-9am with a 10pm-8am sleep and an additional day shift will be from 9am – 6pm. We will provide support during the week, at weekends and on bank holidays and are looking for people who are able to be as flexible as possible to work a range of shifts.

It is a requirement of this position that you are a driver and hold a full UK driving licence and hold, or are willing to obtain, an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care. Dimensions is committed to supporting your professional development and can assist with your enrolment on this course upon successful completion of your probation period.

We recruit based on values so whilst previous experience is always welcome, it’s certainly not essential as full training will be provided.

Your rewards

Dimensions is proud to be one of very few social care organisations that are accredited by the Great Places To Work programme.

A full list of rewards can be found in the job description attached
