Experienced Male Support Worker

£10.56 per hour

Newcastle, NE6

Part-time, 32 hours per week

Who will I be supporting?

  • A gentleman in his early 20s who is supported to live independently
  • He has a mild learning disability and uses words to communicate
  • He’s an incredibly active young man who loves walking, fishing, gardening and cycling – he can sometimes be out for hours on his bike, and it would be fantastic to find a support worker who shares this passion so you can enjoy long bike rides together!
  • When he’s at home he loves watching motorcross, doing woodwork, playing his computer games and cooking with his support team
  • He’s an absolute pleasure to support and loves getting involved in anything practical so if this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

What will I be doing?

  • You will be supporting him to live his life how he chooses, to be himself and to achieve his goals
  • This gentleman is looking for support with everyday tasks such as his budgeting, medication, cooking, cleaning, and laundry
  • He is independent in terms of his personal care but appreciates some friendly encouragement and reminders

What shifts are available?

  • He is supported 1:1
  • Shifts start at 9am one day and finish at 9am the following day with a sleepover shift included (10pm – 8am)
  • Rotas are provided at least 4 weeks in advance
