Practice-Based Learning Designer - 12 months fixed term (Part time)

The Practice-based Learning Designer will play a pivotal role in accelerating the development and delivery of topics which require specialist practitioner input.

The successful candidate will possess strong recent or current experience in adult social care, they will provide guidance across the organisation on topics such as communication, dysphagia, forensic support, physical and mental health and Mental Capacity Act, in the context of developing training on these and other similar topics.

This postholder will work with key stakeholders to identify and respond to agreed training needs. They will also work to design scalable ways to provide already existing clinical training resources to a larger group of colleagues.

Working to a list of clear priorities agreed with their line manager, this postholder will be focused on producing and testing training materials to agreed timescales.

They will also draw on materials and resources available at sector level, supporting the wider provision of these to the Dimensions workforce, as appropriate.

The hours available to work are 15 a week. The full-time salary is £37,500 pro-rata salary of £15,000 for 15 hours.

About the role 

Your main duties will include: 

  • Consult with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to identify training needs and learning objectives.
  • Analyse existing training materials and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain knowledge of training resources available and provided at sector level and advise on how these can be used as appropriate for our workforce.
  • Work with clinical team members to identify training materials and resources that can be adapted and used more widely.

About you

The successful applicant will have: 

  • Hold a degree relevant for clinical knowledge. Examples include psychology, neuroscience, applied behavioural analysis, social work, learning disability nursing
  • Current or recent experience in a practice-based role in adult social care.
  • Possess strong instructional design skills, including needs analysis, content creation and assessment development
  • Sound understanding of social care and issues facing our sector
