Support Worker

We are looking for Support Workers in Comberton to cover various shifts from full time, part time and relief to suit you. We offer fantastic benefits, training and a great team environment. We are looking for people who share our values and can support someone to have the life they want to live.

The Dimensions team supports a gentleman with learning difficulties living in his own home and out and about in the community in Comberton near Cambridge. The positions are full time and part time (relief also available) and are really flexible so your work can fit in with your other commitments. You will be part of a team that works flexibly on a rota, so some weekend and evening will be required. The location is easily accessible by public transport.

The gentleman we support is a keen gardener and has his own allotment and he also keeps chickens. He likes to get out and about to car boot sales etc and loves meeting new people and also keeping in touch with his family. If you think these are things you could support him with then this may be the job for you!

Our unique “Activate” approach puts decision making closer to the people we support. It sets personalised and challenging goals with them, their families and you, their Support Worker - by teaching new skills and enabling people to try new experiences.

Research has proven that this progressive model is the best way to deliver measurable improvements in the quality of life for people - and you and your colleagues in their support teams. It achieves an increase in active support and meaningful activity for people, a reduction in challenging behaviour - and an increase in your own satisfaction, with over 60% of Support Workers reporting that the 'Activate’ model has increased the quality of their working life.

Simply put, our ‘Activate’ approach offers you a better working life, with the satisfaction that you’ve changed someone’s life for the better, in a role where you can be the best that you can be.

Dimensions are one of the country’s largest not-for-profit organisations supporting people with learning difficulties, autism, challenging behaviour and complex needs and we are driven by our values. People with learning disabilities and their families are at the heart of everything we do.
