Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Gateshead NE10
Are you looking for a career where you can make a real and meaningful difference to the lives of others?
Support Work is a fantastic career choice that allows you to do just that! At Dimensions, you’ll receive full training and support every step of the way, making us a fantastic choice if you’re looking for a career change, are re-entering the workforce after a break or if you have some fantastic experience under your belt already and you’re looking for your next challenge – whatever your level of experience, we’d love to hear from you!
We’re currently supporting a fabulous lady in her 20s in the NE10 area of Gateshead. She has autism, a moderate learning disability, epilepsy, and can display behaviour that others may find challenging. We’re looking for friendly and patient people to join her support team, working 37.5 hours per week.
Your role is to support her to live the life she chooses, which includes engaging in the activities she enjoys. She loves the football and going out shopping. She enjoys being with her family and spending time with her nieces. She’s also really into animals and attends dog training classes which she loves!
This lady is independent when it comes to her personal care but she requires support with hot meal preparation, medication administration, grocery shopping, her finances and household tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry.
Full training and support are provided, so whilst experience is always welcome, it’s certainly not essential. What’s more important to us, is that your values are aligned with ours - ambition, courage, integrity, partnership and respect.
Shifts often start at 9am one day and finish at 9am the following day with a sleep over shift included. Day shifts start at 11am and finish at 7pm. We’re looking for people who can work flexibly on the rota working a combination of these shifts across weekdays, weekends and your share of bank holidays. At Dimensions, we value a healthy work / life balance so you will receive your rota 4 weeks in advance. There may be an expectation to be on standby in case of emergencies.
There is free street parking available for staff cars and good public transport links.
For further information about the role, please contact Jane on 07825 844 404.
