Support Worker – Male
£8.91 per hour
South Tyneside
Part-time, 30-35 hours per week
Full UK driving licence essential
Are you driven to help others grow, develop and achieve their goals? Do you want to provide life changing support to people with learning disabilities and autism in your community? If so, we may have just the right opportunity for you!
You will be joining a fantastic team that support a young man with autism in his home in South Tyneside.
Your role is to support this young man to achieve his goals, which include engaging in the activities he enjoys. He loves Star Wars, watching Countdown, completing number puzzles and going for long drives in the car.
It’s your role to ensure that he is supported to live the life he chooses. On a day-to-day basis you will be providing support with meal preparation, medication administration, grocery shopping and household tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry. He is quite independent with his personal care; however, he does require full support with shaving.
We’re looking for people who can be as flexible as possible to work across a 7-day rota that will include days, nights, weekends and your share of bank holidays. A typical shift starts at 10am one day and finishes at 10am the following day with a sleepover shift from 10:30pm - 7:30am included. There are also day shifts from 10am-3pm.
We recruit based on values so whilst previous experience is always welcome, it’s certainly not essential as full training will be provided.
If you have any further questions and would like to discuss the role in more detail, please call Paul on 07939 570 531.
