Support Worker / Care Assistant
Weymouth
Waking nights
Full time and part time available
As a Support Worker, you’ll be helping people you support to live the individual life they want, ensuring they have choice and control over the planning and delivery of their support.
The role will involve supporting a young man in his own home who has autism and complex needs. He has a fun and challenging sense of humour and enjoys life to the full. He enjoys going on long drives in his car, chilling on his tablet and loves going on his trampoline. As the country opens up from lockdown, he loves going to disco’s, train ride to local areas, but he can also enjoy his own company in his own home.
A part of the role will be to encourage sleep as he does tend to have broken sleep throughout the night. You will also be responsible for administrating medication occasionally throughout the week. You will check at regular intervals throughout the night to ensure he is comfortable, provide physical support and emotional reassurance when he is awake and you will have to keep some written records, using IT systems as required to help you, including support plans, incident logs, MARS sheets and health and safety records.
Whether you have experience or not, we will help support you to reach your full potential by providing you with the full training, guidance and support you need to complete your care certificate and further qualifications.
Shift patterns – 9:30pm – 8:30am (we can be slightly flexible with these timings)
