Do you want to go to work every day knowing that you’re making a difference; knowing that you’re supporting others to live their lives the way they choose? It takes empathy, compassion, and commitment to be a Support Worker and if these are qualities you already have, then we can provide you with all the training you need to set you up for a fantastic career in social care!
No previous experience is required. We just ask that you share our values of “respect”, “partnership”, “courage”, “ambition” and “integrity”, that you’re committed to learning, and that you strongly believe that everyone deserves to live the life they choose – if this sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you!
The people we support have learning disabilities and autism, and often they have additional physical and mental health needs. The level of support you will be providing will vary depending on the person you are supporting but day to day you can expect to be involved in personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, grocery shopping and household tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry.
In Sheffield the people we support have a range of interests that include gardening, crafting, going bowling, attending disco evenings, going on walks, doing colouring activities, attending day centres, going swimming, going for drives, visiting friends and family, watching TV, going out for meals and shopping to name just a few. We provide person centred support where every individual is supported to pursue the activities and hobbies that are important to them.
Shifts vary depending on the needs of the person you are supporting but are typically day shifts of varying lengths, sleep ins and/or waking nights. We provide support 24/7 so we’re looking for people who can be flexible to work during the week, at weekends and the occasional bank holiday.
Dimensions are also proud to be one of very few social care organisations that have been recognised by the Great Places to Work programme in 2019, 2020 & 2021. As well as a comprehensive induction, full training and continued support from management, our colleagues have access to:
