Support Worker - Providing life-changing support

Dimensions are supporting a lovely gentleman in his own house in Peacehaven who is deaf and autistic and we are looking for support workers who have a basic understanding of British Sign Language, or would be willing to learn BSL upon confirmation of employment. (Dimensions will provide access to online learning and support with learning BSL).

£500 Refer a Friend Bonus

The gentlemen we are supporting loves writing letters, visiting friends and family, going on day trips to museums or the to the beach and going on holiday.  He loves travel, especially planes, and his support workers enjoy taking him on holidays.  He loves to swim so the team often take him swimming and he has a brilliant sense of humour.  He has autism so can exhibit behaviours of distress so it is key that our support workers are able to communicate with him, which is why we are asking for candidates who are committed to learning British Sign Language as part of the role.  He does have a mobility car so it's desirable that candidates hold a full UK drivers licence (though not essential).

Shift Patterns include: 24 hour care on a rotational basis and shifts will include earlies, lates, nights, alternate weekends and bank holidays so a flexible approach to working hours is key.

We often find great talent from retail, cleaning and hospitality backgrounds, but no matter what your experience, we want to hear from you.  This is your opportunity to start a career where you are genuinely changing people’s lives and to join an award winning team in the process.

If you would like to arrange an interview in BSL or find out more about the job please text or call Ailish on 07384 893 854.
