Support Workers

£9.72 per hour

Part-time, 30 hours per week

Kenton, Newcastle

This is a complex service and is better suited to experienced Support Workers

We will soon be supporting a young man in his late teens in the Kenton area of Newcastle. He has a learning disability and autism, and you will experience some behaviours that others may find challenging.

Your role is to support this young man to achieve his goals, which include engaging in the activities he enjoys. He loves superheroes, riding his bike, watching YouTube, being out and about and enjoying an occasional takeaway.

It’s your role to ensure that he is supported to live the life he chooses. On a day-to-day basis you will be providing support with full personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, grocery shopping and household tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry.

We’re looking for experienced, positive and passionate Support Workers to join his team on a part-time basis, working 30 hours per week.

Shifts are day shifts and waking nights. He’s supported by two people during the day and one person at night. The day shift is between 7/8am – 9/10pm and the waking night shift is 10pm – 8am. We’re looking for people who can work flexibly on a rota that includes weekdays, weekends and a share of bank holidays. At Dimensions, we value a healthy work / life balance and as such, you will receive your rota 4 weeks in advance.

You will receive full training and support and you will have access to opportunities that could further develop your career. Due to the complex nature of this service, it’s a requirement to have, or be willing to obtain (with our financial support) an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

There is parking for staff cars if required and good public transport links.

For further information about the role, please contact Jane on 07825 844 404.

Your rewards

Dimensions is proud to be one of very few social care organisations that are members of the Great Places to Work programme 2019, 2020 & 2021.

A full list of rewards can be found in the job description attached.
