Support Worker

Hessle

£9.80 per hour

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Are you an empathetic, non-judgemental person with the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries? Are you able to motivate others in a consistent and calm manner?

We're looking for people who are passionate about supporting adults to increase their independent living skills whilst facilitating positive community participation.

We have a full-time vacancy for an energetic and resilient person to join our support team in the East Riding area, working 37.5 hours per week.

You will be supporting a gentleman who loves kickboxing and wants to join a gym. He has a learning disability and a forensic history and will require support in developing and understanding his emotions, developing effective ways to communicate his needs, developing empathy for the needs of others, understanding relationships and learning about and understanding his health needs.

This is a challenging and demanding role that requires you to draw on your compassion, resilience and a non-judgemental attitude. You will need a sound understanding of risk management and the ability to maintain appropriate structures and boundaries.

We recruit based on values so whilst previous experience is always welcome, it’s certainly not essential as full specialist training and support will be provided. We just need to come with an open mind, shared values and an eagerness to learn.

The shifts can vary but are usually 8am one day until 8am the following day with a sleep in shift included. Waking nights shifts are also required, usually 10pm - 7am. We’re looking for people with flexibility to work these shifts across weekdays, weekends and a share of the bank holidays.

If you have any further questions and would like to discuss the role in more detail, please call Jodie on 0300 303 9150.
