Support Worker

Start your day knowing you'll make a difference - join our team of Support Workers in Canterbury and create a positive difference that improves the life for the people we support.

Dimensions supported living service is situated in the village of Harbledown roughly twenty minutes from the city of Canterbury, it comprises of five separate self-contained flats and a communal area, alongside an office and sleeping room for support staff. The Dimensions staff provide 24 hour support to two ladies and three gentlemen with a variety of needs including epilepsy, supporting them with all of their daily living needs including personal care and a variety of activities. 4 of the people we're supporting are over the age of 60 and they love spending time in the garden growing plants and vegetables, recently having a sunflower growing contest to welcome the warm weather! They enjoy going out for coffee, to the cinema, visiting the local church and are going to a local music festival in the coming weeks. 1 of the people we're supporting is a college student so she does attend classes during the week and might need support with coursework.

Some of the people we support use hoists and wheelchairs so candidates must be comfortable with delivering a high level of physical support, full training to use additional equipment will be given. Candidates must be comfortable with lone working as you may be working 1:1 with someone we support, for example taking them to the supermarket on their own.

We work on a rotational basis and the shifts at this service will be a mixture of earlies (7:00am - 2:30pm), lates (2:15pm - 9:30pm), waking nights, sleep ins and long days.

We are looking for candidates who hold a full, clean UK driving license as all of the people we support in the service have their own vehicles which support workers will be expected to drive
