Newcastle NE6

Are you an experienced Support Worker who is looking for an organisation that values it's people and their professional development? Perhaps you've been in the same role for some time and you're ready to support someone new?

If so, we have a fantastic opportunity available to join an existing team where you will be supporting a young man in his 20s in the NE6 area of Newcastle. This gentleman has a learning disability, cerebral palsy and he can display behaviours of distress.

We're looking for fabulous people to join this young man's team and support him to achieve his goals. He loves being outside, riding the metro and watching movies. He’s happiest when he’s out and about and enjoys watching others go about their day to day lives.

It will be your role to ensure that he is supported to live the life he chooses. On a day-to-day basis you will be providing support with full personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, grocery shopping and household tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry. He often uses a wheelchair so you will need to be comfortable and able to push his wheelchair for extended periods of time outside of the house.

We’re looking for friendly, patient, and passionate Support Workers to join his team on a part-time basis, working 32 hours per week.

Shifts are day shifts and day shifts with a sleepover. He’s supported by two people during the day and one person at night. The day shift is between 9am – 6pm and the day shift with sleepover is 9am one day until 9am the following day. We’re looking for people who can work flexibly on a rota that includes mostly weekdays and some weekends and bank holidays. At Dimensions, we value a healthy work / life balance and as such, you will receive your rota at least 4 weeks in advance.

You will receive full training and support and you will have access to opportunities that could further develop your career. For this role, it’s a requirement to have, or be willing to obtain (with our financial support) an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

There is parking for staff cars if required and good public transport links.

For further information about the role, please contact Claire on 07384 214 981.
