Support Workers
£9.50 per hour
Full-time & part-time contracts available
Sheffield, S11
Do you want to go to work every day knowing that you’re making a difference; knowing that you’re supporting others to live their lives the way they choose?
It takes empathy, compassion, and commitment to be a Support Worker and if these are qualities you already have, then we can provide you with all the training you need to set you up for a fantastic career in social care!
No previous experience is required. We just ask that you share our values of “respect”, “partnership”, “courage”, “ambition” and “integrity”; that you’re committed to learning, and that you strongly believe that everyone deserves to live the life they choose – if this sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you!
We’re currently looking for Support Workers to join our friendly team in the S11 area of Sheffield, supporting six fabulous people with learning disabilities and autism. They are between 40 and 60 years old and they have different needs, abilities, and interests, so no day is ever the same.
Our person-centred focus means everyone is supported to engage in the activities, hobbies and interests that are important to them. Some of these interests include going to charity shops, playing with Lego, going to festivals, getting the train to Doncaster, listening to gospel music, completing jigsaw puzzles, trips to the coast, going out for coffee, walking, and watching animated films, to name just a few!
The six people we support live across four flats in the same building and will frequently pop in and visit each other. Their flats are within easy reach of the city centre and close to amenities.
Day to day they need varying levels of support with personal care, meal preparation, medication administration and household tasks such as cooking, cleaning and laundry.
No previous experience is necessary as we’ll provide full training. We’re open to you working on a full-time or part-time contract.
For most of the people we support, shifts are 7am – 2:30pm and then 2:30pm – 9:30pm or if you’re doing the sleep-in shifts then it’s 2:30pm - 7am the following morning. Two of the ladies we support have access to 7 hours of support a day and they organise the times directly with their Support Workers.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss the role in more detail, please call Sue on 07584 205 319.
