Full UK driving licence essential
Do you want to go to work every day knowing that you’re making a difference; knowing that you’re supporting someone to live their life the way they choose?
It takes empathy, compassion, and commitment to be a Support Worker and if these are qualities you already have, then we can provide you with all the training you need to set you up for a fantastic career in social care!
In this role, you will be supporting a gentleman with a learning disability to live the life he chooses. He requires support with his mental health and can display behaviours of distress.
He loves attending football matches, going for walks, playing mini golf and cricket with his friends, attending concerts, and singing to karaoke. He also loves going to the theatre to see musicals like Annie and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. He has access to his own vehicle and as he likes the freedom to be out and about a lot so we’re looking for people who have a full UK driving licence to join his team.
He is quite an independent gentleman who can complete his own personal care and medication with prompts. He requires ongoing support to develop his independent living skills when it comes to cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and budgeting.
This gentleman requires a staff team who can be flexible with their shifts. His shifts can vary depending on the activities that he wants to do, as well as how he is feeling. Typically, his shifts start at 9-9:30am and are 24 hours long, finishing at 9-9:30am the following day, with the sleepover shift being from 11:30pm – 7:30am. If he requires additional support with his mental health, the sleepover shift can sometimes become a waking night shift so we’re looking for people who have the flexibility to work both types of shifts. You may at times be asked to be on standby for shifts.
