Support Worker

Here at Dimensions, we are looking for Support Workers to join us in Hythe. Working at our Supported Living Service you will enhance the quality of life of one gentlemen with cerebral palsy who lives there by empowering his independence. Gentelmen does not cummunicate using words so candidates must be patient and willing to build the relationship. Dimensions Support Workers do not need prior experience in Health or Social Care as full training is given.

Both full and part time roles are currently available.

The team work on a rotational basis and the shifts are 12.5 hours during the day and 12.5 hours overnight (the team do the long day to better support the gentleman and his desire to be out and about). 

As a Support Worker no two days are the same as we encourage the people we support, to live the most independent life they can and help them make informed choices

Activities Support Workers at the service will be involved include:

- Trips to local pub (his favourite drink is a Guinness!) 

- Walking and day trips

- Visiting local events

- Supporting with manual handling - wheelchair and hoist

- Enabling independence by assisting with day-to-day tasks (this will include finances, shopping, cooking & personal care)
