Who will I be supporting? 

  • A young man who has a mild learning disability, a personality disorder (EUPD) and a forensic history – specialist forensic training will be provided but it’s essential that you come to this role already having a solid background in support work, preferably supporting people with complex mental health needs and/or complex behaviour
  • This gentleman likes heavy rap music and rock oldies, he likes hot and spicy food, designer clothes, computer games and enjoys cooking from scratch from time to time

What will I be doing? 

  • You will be supporting him to live safely in the community and to develop and understand his emotions
  • You will support him in developing effective ways to communicate his needs and to develop empathy for the needs of others
  • You will support him in understanding relationships and learning about and understanding his own health needs
  • You will be supporting him to increase his independent living skills, which includes meal preparation, medication administration, budgeting, cooking cleaning and laundry
  • He is independent in terms of his personal care but he may ask his support team to help him with his hair

What shifts are available? 

  • Most shifts start at 8am one day and finish at 8am the following day with sleepover shift included
  • Short day shifts also available
  • We provide support 7 days a week on a 2:1 staffing basis
  • Rotas are provided at least 4 weeks in advance
