Support Worker

If you’re a vibrant, bubbly, compassionate, and patient person; if you’re looking for a life-changing career in care where you can have a positive impact in the life of a young gentleman and his bear Charlie who are moving back to Chippenham, then we’d love for you to apply to become our newest Support Worker based in this beautiful market town of northwest Wiltshire.

Meet Brandon and Charlie Bear

Brandon is a lively and playful (some might say mischievous!) young gentleman in his late 20s, and he’s super excited right now because he – along with his constant companion and lifelong best friend Charlie the bear – are moving back to Chippenham to be closer to their family and friends.

Brandon has severe learning disabilities and autism, and communicates non-verbally, but he does understand everything you say, and he’ll communicate with you through Charlie Bear; so, when you meet Brandon, expect to say hello to Charlie too - just be prepared because Charlie does like to fly across rooms sometimes!

Due to experiencing some tough times as of late, Brandon has lost a little of his confidence and a little of his spark, so he’s looking to welcome into his home – and his life – an upbeat, warmhearted, and inspiring person who will go out of their way to help him shine once again! As our newest support worker, you'll achieve this by being actively and enthusiastically engaged in every aspect of Brandon's day (and night!), whilst encouraging and empowering him to lead a richer, more fulfilling life – his best life, the life that he chooses to live.

Brandon has an amazing sense of humour; he loves music (he’s a Sheerio and a huge Dua Lipa fan), he enjoys watching TV (he loves football, rugby, Bob the Builder, and quiz shows – he thoroughly enjoys it when you read out the questions and laughs when you get the answers wrong!), and he also enjoys getting out and about every day. His favourite trips always end up at B&M, Wilkos and McDonalds!

Brandon can walk, but often must use a wheelchair, so, he will require you as his support workers - his new friend - to provide mobility assistance, and he will also require personal care and assistance with preparing meals and feeding. That being said, Brandon always wants to learn and along with Charlie, will always help you when helping him.
