Support Worker

If you're looking for a more meaningful, richly rewarding role - a role that offers genuine job satisfaction and job security; an enviable work-life balance, no costly, time-consuming commutes, generous colleague benefits, and on-going, fully-funded training and mentoring to help you reach your full potential and grow professionally, then you might just want to apply to become our newest Support Worker based in Cardiff (CF23).

About the Role

Located near Eastern Avenue in Cardiff, live four wonderful, quiet, laidback ladies (aged between 30 - 66) who are looking to welcome into their home several warm-hearted, upbeat, and inspiring individuals to support them in living their best lives - the lives that they choose to live. It is an essential requirement of this position to hold a full UK drivers license as the ladies have access to their own mobility vehicle and they love nothing more than getting out and about as often as they can to help them live richer, more fulfilling lives.

By working in partnership with your new colleagues and the families of those we support, you'll be expected to:

  • Be actively and enthusiastically engaged in every aspect of their day (and nights!). You'll achieve this by being involved in their hobbies; accompanying them to appointments and joining them with running errands, encouraging and empowering them to try new things, and support them with their finances, etc.
  • Respectfully provide personal care, mobility assistance, and meal prep/PEG feeding support.
  • Safeguard the people we support by ensuring they're always content and comfortable, and that the environments they're in are clean and sanitary, and free from risks
  • Write and maintain written records (i.e. observation logs, risks assessments, financial records, etc.)

Because we match our colleagues to the people we support in a personal way, it would be beneficial for your application to reach out to Locality Manager, Tracy, (on 07940 267 152 or tracy.folland@dimensions-uk.org), to learn more about the people we support here; who they are, what makes them tick, what they enjoy doing, etc. You can also ask Tracy for more information about the role, and for details about the shifts we offer.
