We’re Dimensions, a not-for-profit charitable registered society and housing association that supports people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk and we provide a range of support services for one female and nine males across ten supported living flats. Our main priority for this job role is to find people with the right values, behaviours and attitudes that match our own! Could this be you?

You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker. Above all we want someone that shares in our values. These are:

  • Ambition - We seek to help people reach their potential.
  • Courage - We are guided by the courage of our convictions to make a difference.
  • Integrity - We ensure that what we do is grounded in what we believe.
  • Partnership - We work with others to achieve more for people.
  • Respect - We recognise that every person’s unique contribution is valuable.

The duties are varied, and no two days will be the same. The people we support are individuals and they all deserve to be treated as such. However, as a general guide, duties may include some support with personal care needs, as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing such as cooking, music, day centre, musical evenings, shopping trips and visiting the Zoo.

Be prepared to work flexibly. This could include working days with a shift pattern of earlies, lates, long days and alternative weekends. This will be discussed with you during the interview process.

Join us and in return we can offer:

  • Free DBS check
  • Advance: access to some of your earned pay ahead of your regular payday
  • A comprehensive employee assistance programme
  • Access to the Blue Light Card (lots of discounts available)
  • 30 days annual leave entitlement (including bank holidays), rising to 35 days.
  • £500 bonus for recommending a friend to work for us if they are employed.
