Network Support Administrator – 2nd Line

The Network Support Administrator will act as the internal 2nd line resolver for all network-related incidents and service requests across the organisation’s distributed estate of over 900 locations.

The role will support the deployment of the new Direct Internet Access (DIA) network across services. Post-deployment, the role will operate as the central point of coordination and resolution for WAN, LAN and Wi-Fi issues, working closely with the managed service provider (MSP) responsible for network configuration and infrastructure management.

We’re excited to share two fantastic new opportunities—one permanent role and one 12-month fixed-term contract.

A secondment opportunity can only be arranged with the consent of the employee and their line manager. Employees must obtain the agreement of their substantive line manager before applying for a secondment post.

About the role 

Your main duties will include: 

  • Act as 2nd line resolver group for all network-related incidents escalated from the Service Desk
  • Take full ownership of incidents through to resolution, including supplier engagement and escalation management.
  • Diagnose WAN, LAN and Wi-Fi issues using structured troubleshooting methodologies. 
  • Distinguish between endpoint, configuration, ISP, and infrastructure-related faults.  

About you

The successful applicant will have: 

  • Experience operating support within a distributed, multi-site organisation.
  • Possess strong endpoint troubleshooting experience (Windows 10/11, device management
  • Collaborative and able to work constructively with MSP partners
  • Good knowledge of IP addressing and subnetting
