About Dimensions
Dimensions is one of the UK’s leading not-for-profit organisations supporting people with learning disabilities and autistic people to live fulfilling, independent and meaningful lives. We are values-led, inclusive, and recognised as a Great Place to Work. Our colleagues are united by a shared purpose: to help people thrive, grow, and enjoy great lives.
About the role
We are recruiting a Female Support Worker to join our team in East Finchley. In this home, you’ll support four adults, two women and two gentlemen aged from their mid-40s to 60s who love music, dancing, karaoke, and spending time in their local community. Their joy and enthusiasm make every day rewarding.
The people we support have learning disabilities, epilepsy, and dysphagia. One person receives 1:1 support, and the people we support may not use words to communicate, so being observant, intuitive, and responsive is essential. You’ll work as part of a larger team, with three staff on days and two staff overnight on waking nights.
Your role will involve supporting with personal care, meal preparation, medication, and housework, while also supporting wellbeing, communication, and confidence. You’ll encourage hobbies such as going to day centres, visiting parks, enjoying the pub, or simply spending time doing the things they love. Training and coaching will be provided to help you use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and digital tools.
Shifts typically run 7:00am–2:30pm or 2:30pm–10:00pm, with occasional long days (7:00am–10:00pm). You’ll work every other weekend as part of the regular rota.
About You
You’ll be caring, energetic and enthusiastic about supporting people to live the life they choose. You’ll enjoy being out and about and take initiative. You must be comfortable providing full personal care, supporting health needs, using digital systems, and learning new skills. Experience is preferred but not essential, we’ll support you to grow with confidence.
