About the role

  • Female Support Worker
  • Full time – 37.5 hours per week
  • Lincoln, LN4
  • Full UK Manual driving licence essential
  • £12.85 per hour.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive home where you will be supporting three women aged between their 20s and 70s, with a fourth person moving in soon. You will be part of a wider support team, ensuring consistency and high-quality support, with at least two team members on shift together during key parts of the day.

The role is varied and rewarding. One of the women you will support requires full personal care, while another is receiving palliative care, so compassion, dignity and sensitivity are essential. You will also support with medication, meal preparation and eating and drinking needs, including following safer eating guidelines, and supporting modified diets. Some individuals are independent in certain areas, and part of your role will be recognising and encouraging these skills, helping people maintain and grow their independence.

Manual handling is part of the role, including the use of a hoist and occasional wheelchair support. You will also be involved in maintaining accurate records and supporting care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for everyone in the home.

Life here is active and social. The people we support enjoy getting out and about – whether it is going shopping, heading out for lunch or a drink, attending discos and Club 87, or enjoying theatre trips and live music. They also love holidays, including caravan breaks, and relaxing experiences like spa treatments. You will play a key role in making these activities happen, supporting people to enjoy life to the fullest.

The home operates a rolling two-week rota, including early shifts (8am–2pm), late shifts (2pm–8pm), and longer days which can extend to 8pm or 10pm with a sleep-in. Sleep-ins are a regular part of the role, with a commitment of at least one per week, and you will also work alternate weekends.

About you

You will be someone who is kind, patient and genuinely motivated to support others. You do not need previous experience, as we provide full training, but you do need the right values and a willingness to learn.

This role is female only, and you must hold a full UK manual driving licence as you will be required to drive mobility and lease vehicles. While you do not need your own car for the job itself, you will need to be able to travel to the home location.

You will be comfortable supporting people with a range of needs, including complex health and personal care, and you will approach every situation with respect and compassion. Being reliable, flexible and a strong team player is essential, particularly as the role involves sleep-ins, weekends, and a variety of shift patterns.
