About the role
If you are looking for a role that is fun, energetic, and truly rewarding, this could be the perfect fit.
We are looking for a Female Support Worker to join our supported living home in Stanway, Colchester, where you will support two women and one man to live independent and fulfilling lives. This is a sociable home, where there is always something happening and plenty of opportunities to get involved.
Life here is varied. You might spend one day baking in the kitchen, getting creative with arts and crafts, or heading out for a swim, and the next enjoying a trip to the cinema, a game of bowling, or even a dance class. You will play an active role in planning and supporting these interests, helping to turn everyday moments into enjoyable experiences.
Each person you support has their own goals and routines, and you will be a big part of helping them achieve these. One person is attending college and working towards future employment, another already has a job and needs support with their working routine, while the third enjoys regular visits to a local community centre. You will be there to encourage independence, build confidence, and celebrate every success along the way.
Alongside the social side of the role, you will also provide practical day-to-day support. This includes assisting with personal care for the two women, supporting mobility, administering medication, and helping to keep the home running smoothly through cooking, shopping, and planning meals. Communication is also key, as one person uses Makaton, and you will follow guidance from Speech and Language Therapy plans to ensure safe and effective support, full training will be provided to help you feel confident in this area.
About you
You don’t need experience, just the right attitude and a willingness to learn. You’ll be caring, reliable, and ready to present new ideas in fun and exciting ways. Patience, clear communication, and flexibility are essential, along with a full UK driving licence. If you’re passionate about making a real difference and helping people live life their way, we’d love to hear from you.
