About the role
You’ll be supporting two fantastic women, aged 25 to mid 40s, in their shared supported living home. Both have big personalities, enjoy keeping busy, and love making the most of life. Their interests include bowling, cinema trips, baking cakes and homemade dog treats, shopping, days out, and spending time in their local town.
Each woman has her own goals and support needs. One enjoys a high degree of independence and takes pride in preparing meals, maintaining her routines, and making choices about her day-to-day life. The second woman requires full support with personal care, mealtimes, and daily living tasks. She is expressive, engaging, and enjoys positive interactions with those around her. She thrives with support workers who are patient, emotionally resilient, confident, and able to anticipate her needs while promoting choice and dignity.
This is a lone-working role, so you'll need to be comfortable making decisions independently, responding calmly to changing situations, and providing consistent, person-centred support. Alongside supporting with personal care, medication, meal preparation, shopping, household tasks, and appointments, you'll play an important role in helping both women develop skills, maintain their independence, achieve personal goals, and access the hobbies they enjoy.
Both women flourish with support workers who bring energy, encouragement, and a positive outlook. This role would suit someone who is proactive, adaptable, and passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities to live the lives they choose.
