About the role

• Female Support Worker
• £13.45 per hour
• Norwich, NR1
• Part Time - 30 hours per week

The current payrate of £12.85 will be increasing to £13.45 on 1st October 2026

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated female Support Workers to join our supported living home, supporting four independent women aged between their 20s and 50s. This is a rewarding opportunity to support people who are taking exciting steps towards greater independence, with many who have moved into their first supported living home from the family home. Our focus is on helping each person live the life they choose through choice, control and personalised support. 

You'll support the ladies to develop skills and confidence in areas such as:

• Cooking and meal preparation.
• Household tasks including cleaning and laundry.
• Managing medication.
• Accessing education, employment and volunteering opportunities.
• Social and community involvement.
• Building independence and achieving personal goals.

The women enjoy shopping, cinema trips, theatre visits, lunches out, seaside trips, concerts, music, crafts and keeping active in their local community. There is very little personal care involved, with support mainly focused on encouragement and independence. Some assistance may occasionally be required with tasks such as hair washing. This role involves a significant amount of lone working and requires someone confident in building positive relationships whilst promoting independence.

Shifts: The role involves a varied shift pattern, including early shifts, late shifts and sleep-ins, with support tailored around the lifestyles of the people we support. Rotas are provided five weeks in advance, and you'll be given a clear overview of the shift patterns during your meet and greet so you know what to expect.

About you

You don't need previous care experience. We're looking for people who share our values and have a genuine passion for helping others achieve great outcomes. You'll be:

• Patient, encouraging and positive.
• Committed to promoting independence and choice.
• Confident working both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable supporting people with medication.
• Willing to work a flexible rota including sleep-ins and alternate weekends.
• Able to use basic IT systems to complete records and training.

Most importantly, you'll recognise what people can do for themselves and support them to learn new skills, try new experiences and achieve their goals.
