A role full of variety, purpose and real impact

If you’re someone who thrives on variety, enjoys meeting new people and wants work that genuinely changes lives, becoming a Floating Support Worker with Dimensions could be a perfect fit.

We’re a leading, national, not-for-profit organisation supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism. As a Floating Support Worker, you’ll work across multiple teams and services in Bath, Bristol and the surrounding areas, offering support where it’s needed most.

Your adaptability and compassion will help people live independently, confidently and on their own terms.

What this role involves

Every day is different. Guided by personalised support plans, you’ll work with people who have a wide range of needs—from those who are largely independent to people requiring support with personal care and more complex healthcare needs.

Your day might include:

  • Building meaningful, trusting relationships
  • Supporting people with activities they enjoy at home and in the community
  • Encouraging independence and decision-making
  • Helping with daily tasks—meal prep, budgeting, maintaining a home
  • Providing personal care where needed
  • Supporting individuals who communicate non-verbally or use wheelchairs (full training provided)

You’ll also be part of a strong support network, including a Senior Resource Allocation Manager and leadership teams within each service.

Why this role could be perfect for you

Floating Support Workers play a vital part in keeping services consistent and person-centred. This role offers:

  • Variety – no two days are the same
  • Flexibility – work across multiple locations
  • Growth – develop a wide range of skills and experience
  • Purpose – make a meaningful difference every day

You don’t need prior experience. If you’re caring, adaptable and committed to helping others, we’ll provide full, paid training, access to qualifications and plenty of opportunities to progress.

What we need from you

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to:

  • Be able to commute within approximately an hour from home
  • Support people with a diverse range of needs
  • Work flexible shifts (early, late and occasional sleep-ins)
  • Be available for alternate weekend working
  • Use your own car for work and hold/willing to obtain business insurance

Your rewards

A full list of benefits can be found in the attached job description, including:

  • Paid training at your usual hourly rate
  • Funded qualifications and career pathways
  • A supportive, inclusive workplace
  • The chance to make a lasting difference
