About the role

  • Lead Support Worker
  • Haverhill, Suffolk, CB9
  • £13.96 Per hour
  • Full time - 37.5 hours per week
  • Full UK manual or automatic driving licence is essential.

As a Lead Support Worker, you’ll play an important role in ensuring the people we support receive high-quality, person-centred care. Working closely with your locality manager and assistant locality manager, you’ll be supported while also becoming a trusted guide for your colleagues. This role blends hands-on support with leadership, offering you the chance to make a meaningful difference every day.

You’ll support adults with learning disabilities and autism across eight self-contained flats, helping each person live a life that’s meaningful to them. Ages range from 30 to 80, with varied interests such as shopping, zoo trips, and social evenings. Support is mainly 1:1, with occasional 2:1, so flexibility is key. Your work will be varied and rewarding. You’ll help people build independence, develop new skills and make choices that reflect the life they want to live. Using approaches such as Activate and Active Support, you’ll set meaningful goals and recognise the potential in everyday moments. You’ll support with daily routines—from personal care and medication to meal preparation, shopping and maintaining a comfortable home—ensuring each person feels respected and involved in their own support.

Alongside this, you’ll play a key part in coaching and mentoring support workers. You’ll share good practice, offer mindful feedback and help create a positive, inclusive team culture. You’ll contribute to reviews, support continuous improvement and work in line with Dimensions’ values, policies and regulatory standards. Building strong relationships with families, circles of support and colleagues will be central to your role..

If you’re someone who leads with compassion, enjoys empowering others and finds purpose in helping people live fulfilling lives, you’ll feel valued and inspired in this role.
