About the role

We're looking for a patient, organised and personable Male Support Worker to join our team in Nottingham (NG5), supporting a gentleman in his 30s with autism.

This is a highly rewarding 1:1 lone-working role, where you'll build a strong, trusting relationship and support someone to live independently, confidently and on their own terms.

The gentleman you will support enjoys an active and social lifestyle. He loves getting out and about, exploring the local area and spending time pursuing his interests.

His interests include:

  • Snooker
  • Public transport and travelling around the city
  • Eating out
  • Watching tennis
  • Social media
  • Cooking meals from scratch and choosing his own ingredients

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships and supporting independence.

What you will be doing

You'll provide personalised support tailored to the individual's needs, including:

  • Encouraging independence and daily living skills
  • Supporting meal planning, shopping and cooking
  • Administering medication
  • Supporting community access and social activities
  • Encouraging healthy routines and personal goals
  • Building positive relationships with family members and professionals
  • Maintaining accurate records and support plans
  • Providing consistent, person-centred support

Shift patterns

Typical shifts include:

  • Long day with sleep-in: 7:00am – 11:00pm + sleep-in
  • Sleep-ins are typically included within a 24-hour shift pattern
  • Some split shifts may occasionally be required (16:00-22:00)

Rotas are provided in advance to support a healthy work–life balance.

About you

You'll be a great fit if you're:

  • A clear and confident communicator
  • Patient, friendly and approachable
  • Organised with good time-management skills
  • Honest, reliable and professional
  • Passionate about promoting independence
  • Comfortable working independently in a lone-working role
  • Someone who enjoys cooking and supporting healthy lifestyles
  • Able to build positive relationships with families and external professionals

Experience is beneficial but not essential — we'll provide all the training and support you need to succeed.

Rewards that make a difference

  • A competitive pay rate with uplift for overtime you choose to work
  • Flexible shift patterns to suit your needs
  • 30 days paid Annual Leave (including public holidays – pro rata)
  • Opportunities for career progression
  • Supported 'Learn to Drive' scheme (up to 30 driving lessons, 1 theory/practical test - all paid for by us)
  • We offer a salary advance scheme where you can access up to 50% of the money you've earned before payday
