About the role
You'll be supporting two people, a gentleman and a lady in their 50s and 60s, to enjoy a safe, comfortable and reassuring night in their home.
The gentleman has cerebral palsy and communicates in ways other than words. Building a good understanding of his individual communication style will help you recognise his needs, preferences and routines, ensuring he feels heard, respected and supported.
The lady has epilepsy, which is well managed with medication. She enjoys the reassurance of having consistent, attentive support available during the night, giving her and those around her peace of mind.
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll work independently as the sole member of staff on shift, carrying out regular checks, providing personal care when required, supporting with mobility needs using single-person hoisting, and responding calmly and confidently to any support needs that arise overnight.
