You’ll make every day matter for the people you support, helping them learn, grow, and live life their way. At Dimensions, we’ll make every day matter for you too, with wellbeing support, flexibility, and a caring team. Through Inspiring People Awards and Dimensions Academy, we celebrate your contribution and help you thrive – because when you can be you, everyone benefits

Donna is in her early 40s and lives with Rett syndrome, autism and epilepsy. She communicates in her own way — not always verbally — but she always makes her feelings known, and her personality shines through every day.

Music is central to Donna’s wellbeing. Her favourite songs are always playing, and you’ll often sing, hum or gently chat along with her as part of her routine. When Donna feels comfortable, her infectious laugh can brighten even the dullest of days.

Donna thrives when the people around her understand her world and take the time to build trust. To support her well, you’ll need to bring:

  • Patience and genuine compassion
  • A calm, reassuring presence
  • An understanding of when to talk — and when to sing
  • Consistency to follow her routines
  • A passion for supporting someone to live life her way

This is an active, meaningful role where every interaction truly matters. You’ll support Donna with:

  • Lots of walking and staying active
  • Swimming and fun exercise classes (including glow sticks!)
  • All household tasks, including cleaning, food shopping and meal preparation
  • Personal care
  • Attending appointments
  • Dropping her to and pick her up from day services three days a week

You’ll also spend time with the two very friendly family dogs, so being a dog lover is essential.

"Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. In this context, "gender" refers to the sex legally assigned to an individual."
