About the Role

We are looking for a caring, confident, and proactive Female Support Worker to join our team, supporting people across a variety of supported living settings in Chandler's Ford, Totton and Romsey.

You will be supporting people with mild to moderate learning disabilities, as well as individuals with complex care and physical support needs, helping them to live as independently as possible and enjoy fulfilling, active lives.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll provide person-centred support tailored to each individual's goals, preferences, and needs, empowering them to make choices and maintain control over their lives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing high-quality, person-centred support in a range of supported living environments.
  • Supporting people with all aspects of daily living, including personal care delivered with dignity, respect, and compassion.
  • Assisting individuals with complex care needs and mobility requirements.
  • Using manual handling equipment safely, including wheelchairs and hoists.
  • Supporting people to access their local communities, attend appointments, pursue hobbies, and participate in activities they enjoy.
  • Assisting with household tasks such as cooking, shopping, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and choice in everyday life.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and professionals to provide consistent, high-quality support.
  • Accurately completing support records and following individual support plans.

Shift Pattern

This role involves a mixture of:

  • Long day shifts (approximately 7:00am – 8:00pm)
  • Sleep-in shifts
  • Approximately three shifts per week, worked on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays as required.

About You

You don't need previous experience in care and support—we provide comprehensive training and ongoing development. What matters most is your attitude, values, and commitment to making a difference.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is caring, compassionate, and reliable.
  • Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Is comfortable providing personal care and supporting people with complex needs.
  • Is confident using or willing to learn manual handling techniques and equipment.
  • Can adapt to different environments and support a variety of individuals.
  • Is passionate about promoting independence, choice, and inclusion.
  • Can work flexibly across multiple supported living locations.

Gender is considered a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010. Therefore, this post is open to female applicants only. In this context, "female" refers to the sex legally assigned to an individual.
