About the role
You'll be supporting a fun-loving lady in her 30s to live independently in her own home in Warrington.
She has autism and a learning disability and is looking for positive, patient and enthusiastic support workers to join her team and help her live the life she chooses.
She loves getting out and about and making the most of every day. Whether it's a trip to the cinema, a shopping day, a walk in the local area, or spending time with her friends, she enjoys staying active and involved in her community. One of her favourite activities is disco dancing, so if you enjoy a good dance and love having fun, you'll be in great company!
To be a great match, you'll be someone who enjoys building positive relationships and can provide calm, consistent support. This lady can experience behaviours of distress at times, so we're looking for someone with previous experience supporting people with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Don't worry, full Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) training will be provided to help you succeed in the role.
As a Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in helping this lady maintain her independence, achieve her goals and enjoy the things that matter most to her.
Your support will include:
Encouraging and promoting independence in all aspects of daily life.
Supporting her to access the activities she enjoys, including walks, shopping trips, cinema visits, disco dancing and socialising with friends.
Helping her develop new skills, pursue personal goals and build confidence.
Supporting with medication.
Assisting with food shopping and meal preparation.
Providing support with household tasks such as cooking, cleaning and laundry.
Using positive behaviour support approaches to provide reassurance and help her navigate challenging situations.
This lady also has access to her own vehicle to enjoy trips out and about, making community activities even more accessible and enjoyable. For this reason, a full UK driving licence is essential for this role, you will be expected to be a driver.
