Your wellbeing matters. From health support to flexible working, we provide the tools and culture to help you stay balanced, healthy and at your best, both inside and outside of work.
Thanks to our amazing teams, Dimensions Group has been accredited as a Great Place to Work for 2026, marking our eighth consecutive year of recognition.
About the roleWe’re looking for an upbeat, proactive and caring Female Support Worker to join our small, friendly team, supporting three ladies aged from their 40s to 70s to enjoy full, active and meaningful lives.
The ladies have profound multiple learning disabilities and additional health needs, including dementia. Two use wheelchairs, so you’ll provide personalised support with all aspects of daily life, including:
The ladies lead busy lives and have a wide range of interests. They enjoy volunteering, theatre trips, bowling, arts and crafts, music, cinema visits and evening clubs where they meet friends and peers. One lady also enjoys attending church.
Your role will be about much more than providing practical support. You’ll help each lady continue doing the things she enjoys, maintain important relationships and make the most of opportunities within her community.
About youThis is an active, hands-on role, so you’ll need to be comfortable with the physical aspects of supporting people with mobility needs.
Manual handling is an important part of the ladies’ daily support. This includes pushing wheelchairs for extended periods when out in the community, using specialist equipment such as adjustable beds, and assisting with repositioning. Full training will be provided.
There will also be periods of lone working, so we’re looking for someone who is confident, responsible and able to use their initiative while providing safe, person-centred support.
Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. In this context, "gender" refers to the sex legally assigned to an individual.
