About the role

We’re looking for a confident and compassionate Support Worker to work 1:1 with a young gentleman in his 30s with complex learning disabilities and epilepsy (Buccal medication required). He is a wheelchair user and communicates without words, but expresses himself through smiles, gestures, and his warm personality.

You’ll be supporting him to enjoy a full and meaningful life, including:

  • Swimming
  • Listening to music
  • Comedy shows and films
  • Church on Sundays
  • Coffee mornings on Fridays

This is a lone-working role that requires confidence, initiative, and the ability to build a trusting, positive relationship with both him and his family.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in health and social care, ideally in lone-working environments
  • Friendly, outgoing, and able to bring good humour to each day
  • Comfortable with personal care and using hoists (full training provided)
  • Confident administering medication (including Buccal)
  • Organised, reliable, and calm under pressure
  • A driver with a full UK licence (auto-friendly)

You’ll play an important role in maintaining strong and respectful communication with his family, who are closely involved and deeply value consistency and collaboration.

Rewards that make a difference

  • A competitive pay rate with uplift for any overtime you choose to work
  • Flexible shift patterns to suit your needs
  • 30 days’ paid annual leave (including public holidays – pro rata)
  • Opportunities for career progression
  • Supported ‘Learn to Drive’ scheme (up to 30 lessons + tests paid for)
  • Salary advance scheme – access up to 50% of earned pay before payday
  • High Street discounts (retail, hospitality, entertainment, cinema etc.)
