“Love the job role, some days it doesn’t feel like work at all!” – Current Support Worker

Dimensions is proud to be recognised as a Great Place to Work for 7 years in a row.

About the role

We’re looking for a proactive, kind and outdoorsy Female Support Worker to join our team in BA14. You’ll be supporting three women, each living in their own flat within the same building. All are adults aged from their 20s to their 60s, with mild learning disabilities and well-managed epilepsy.

Support is provided through a mix of 1:1 time and core shared support, creating plenty of variety throughout your shifts.

Who you will be supporting

Each woman has her own personality, interests and goals. You’ll support them to live independently, enjoy their favourite activities and feel confident in their daily lives.

Interests & routines include:

  • Shopping trips and days out
  • Hair appointments and getting their nails done
  • Dog walking and a love of animals (dog-lovers especially welcome!)
  • Enjoying a bit of humour, cheekiness and friendly conversation
  • Quiet, peaceful environments for those who prefer calm routines

Support needs include:

  • Personal care: Yes (for one person)
  • Hoist use: Not required
  • Wheelchair use: One woman uses a wheelchair when out in the community
  • Support with meals: Active support approach
  • Medication administration: Yes (for one person)
  • Experience: Not essential – we provide full training

Family involvement:
Two individuals have strong support from their families, so open, positive communication is key.

What you will be doing

You’ll support the ladies to live full, confident and independent lives, including:

  • Personal care (for one person)
  • Supporting independence through Active Support
  • Encouraging involvement in everyday tasks
  • Community activities, shopping trips and dog walks
  • Meal preparation and cooking
  • Administering medication
  • Supporting wellbeing, choice and daily routines
  • Providing friendly, patient and person-centred care

This role suits someone who enjoys being out and about, values gentle encouragement, and can adapt to different communication styles and preferences.

Shift patterns

This is a part-time weekend role (15–30 hours) with set shifts and additional optional day hours depending on need.

Weekend shifts include:

  • 10:00am – 3:00pm
  • 8:30am – 5:00pm
  • 5:00pm – 10:00pm

Additional weekday hours may be available depending on changing support needs.

About you

You’ll be a great match if you are:

  • Kind, caring and patient
  • Person-centred in your approach
  • Enjoy the outdoors and staying active
  • Proactive and confident encouraging independence
  • A dog lover (highly preferred)
  • Friendly with a gentle sense of humour
  • Calm, reliable and compassionate
  • A full UK manual driver

Experience is helpful but not required — full training is provided.
