About the role

  • Support Worker
  • Full time or part time contracts considered.
  • Days vacancies available.
  • Bricket Wood, St Albans
  • £13.78 per hour

We are looking for experienced Support Workers to join a team providing consistent, structured support in our home in Bricket Wood. The people we support do have a history of complex behaviours, so we are seeking someone confident, resilient, and skilled in maintaining clear boundaries and routines.

People we support lead vibrant, community-focused lives filled with social clubs and hobbies. You will play a key role in supporting these routines, promoting independence, developing new skills, and ensuring a stable, predictable environment. The role includes personal care, administering medication, and preparing meals.

Shifts vary between early mornings and late evenings, with the latest finish around 11pm. Rotas are issued four weeks in advance and include bank holidays. Weekend working is on a rotational basis, though patterns may change depending on the support needs. Flexibility is essential, as you will be required to work around planned events, holidays, and established routines.

About you

You will have previous experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, or complex behaviours of distress. You must be confident in communicating clearly, using consistency, and maintaining professional boundaries in line with the needs of the people supported.

Aligned with the Dimensions JDPS, you will demonstrate:

  • Ambition – helping people set goals and reach their potential.
  • Courage – confidence supporting individuals with a history of behaviours of distress and promoting positive change.
  • Integrity – clear, respectful communication and professional conduct.
  • Partnership – teamwork with colleagues, families, and professionals.
  • Respect – treating everyone with dignity and supporting people to make their own choices.

You will also be flexible, reliable, values-driven and committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support.
