About the role

We’re looking for a caring, motivated and positive Support Worker to join our friendly team in Stafford, supporting three active gentlemen in their 30s with learning disabilities and autism.

This is a vibrant and engaging home where you’ll build meaningful relationships and support individuals to live full, independent lives. One gentleman communicates without words, so understanding individual communication styles and building trust will be key to your success.

Who you will be supporting

The gentlemen you’ll support lead active, sociable and fulfilling lives. They enjoy:

  • Staying active: Gym sessions, swimming, bowling and countryside walks
  • Music: Drum and guitar lessons, with a drum kit at home
  • Socialising: Trips into town, day outings and spending time with others

They live together in a shared home and maintain strong relationships with their families, who often visit.

What you will be doing

You’ll provide high-quality, person-centred support, including:

  • Encouraging independence and choice
  • Supporting personal care and daily routines
  • Preparing meals and supporting household tasks
  • Administering medication safely (training provided)
  • Supporting communication in ways that suit each individual
  • Joining in with activities and community outings
  • Maintaining routines and providing consistent, structured support

You’ll help create a positive and supportive environment where each person can thrive.

Shift patterns

This is a 37.5-hour role with a mix of shifts:

  • 7:30am – 3:00pm
  • 3:00pm – 10:30pm
  • Long days: 7:30am – 10:30pm
  • Sleep-ins: 10:30pm – 7:30am (£50 paid to sleep)

You’ll typically complete 1–2 sleep-ins per week.
Rotas are planned in advance to support a healthy work–life balance.

About you

You’ll be a great fit if you are:

  • Caring, patient and values-driven
  • Calm, organised and reliable
  • A strong communicator, able to adapt your approach
  • Positive, friendly and bring a good sense of humour
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive and able to follow routines and structure
  • Enthusiastic about supporting active lifestyles

Experience is helpful, but not essential — full training is provided.
