We are supporting 5 autistic people and people with learning disabilities, behaviours of distress and complex health needs In Willingham, Cambridge.

This is a highly rewarding, hands-on role, you’ll play a key part in supporting people to live full and active lives, helping with daily routines, personal care, medication and specialist clinical support. You will receive full specialist training (including suctioning, stoma care and PEG feeding) delivered face-to-face with ongoing support to build your confidence.

Life in the home is fun and social. The people we support enjoy a wide range of interests, from Disney experiences and music sessions to cinema trips, holidays, meals out and relaxing in their sensory room. They are active members of their community, regularly attending coffee mornings, social clubs and local events.

You’ll be working as part of a supportive team, typically alongside three or four colleagues on shift. While much of the support is delivered as a team, there will also be opportunities to provide one-to-one, person-centred support.

Shift patterns are varied and include early, late, long days, with every other weekend and at least one sleep-in per week. Due to the rural location, a manual UK driving licence and access to your own car is essential.

About you

You don’t need previous experience – we’re looking for people who share our values and are ready to learn.

You’ll be:

  • Passionate about supporting people to live great lives.
  • A strong team player who can build positive relationships.
  • Willing to learn new skills, including clinical and specialist training.
  • Flexible and reliable, able to work a range of shifts.
  • Comfortable supporting people with complex health needs and personal care.
  • Confident using basic IT for recording and communication.

You’ll also need:

  • A manual UK driving licence and access to your own car (due to rural location)
