About the role
- Support Worker
- Full time – 37.5 hours per week
- Skellingthorpe, Lincoln, LN6.
- Full UK Manual driving licence essential.
We are recruiting for a Support Worker to support a woman in her late 50s who leads a very active and social lifestyle. She enjoys a wide range of daily hobbies including swimming, baking, and getting out to her local community.
No two days will be the same in this role. You will be supporting her to maintain her active routine and encouraging her independence while ensuring she feels safe, confident, and supported.
This role will involve:
- Supporting with daily interests such as swimming, baking, and social outings.
- Providing some assistance with personal care and dressing.
- Supporting safe mobility, including use of equipment such as wheelchair, Sara Steady, chair raiser, and hoist.
- Encouraging independence and skill-building in line with person-centred support plans.
- Supporting with behaviours of distress using positive and proactive approaches (ProAct SCIPr-UK training provided).
- Working flexibly to meet her needs, including community-based support and varied routines.
You will also work in partnership with colleagues, families, and professionals while maintaining accurate records and delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
About you
We are looking for someone who is kind, proactive, and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for supporting others to live great lives.
You will:
- Be a driver with a manual UK driving licence (essential).
- Be confident supporting someone with an active and varied lifestyle.
- Have a positive, patient approach to behaviours of distress (training provided).
- Be comfortable supporting with personal care and moving & assisting tasks.
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
- Be willing to learn and develop new skills, including specialist training.
Desirable:
- Knowledge or experience of Makaton.
