About the role

  • Support Worker
  • Part time – 18.9 hours per week / x2 shifts a week.
  • £12.85 per hour
  • Full UK driving licence essential (Must be able to drive an automatic car)

You will be supporting one gentleman in his 50s who lives independently and needs 1:1 support at home and 2:1 support when out in his community. This is a highly person-centred role were building trust and understanding his needs is key. He does not communicate using words but understands simple language and instructions, so your patience and ability to communicate in different ways will make a real difference.

Your day will include supporting with full personal care, mobility, and daily routines, as well as preparing meals and providing specialist support with eating and drinking due to dysphagia. You will also administer medication and ensure his safety and wellbeing at all times.

A big part of the role is supporting him to live an active and fulfilling life. He enjoys getting out and about visiting cafés and pubs, going for walks, and taking trips to places like the seaside or zoo. Maintaining his close relationship with his family is also important, and you will support him to visit them regularly.

Shifts: 18.9 hours per week across 2 days (can include weekends), covering 7:15am–5pm or 12pm–9:45pm. No sleep-ins or waking nights.

About you

  • A caring, patient, and attentive individual.
  • Confident supporting with personal care and complex needs.
  • A driver with a UK licence (must be confident driving an automatic vehicle).
  • Flexible and committed to delivering person-centred support.
  • Experience is helpful but not essential—we provide full training.
