About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to support a woman in her late twenties who lives independently in her own home and is supported on a 2:1 basis. She is autistic and has complex support needs, so we are looking for someone who is patient, resilient and genuinely committed to understanding the person behind the support needs.
Routine and consistency are incredibly important to her. She relies on a stable team who take the time to build trust, understand her communication, and support her in a way that works for her. Success in this role comes from getting to know her as an individual, recognising what matters to her and supporting her to live the life she chooses within her local community.
She enjoys music, Ghostbusters, Teletubbies, long walks, trips to the seaside, spending time with animals and attending her local Butterfly Club.
You will also provide support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and community involvement. Although she has a wheelchair available, this is used very minimally. She is independent with eating and drinking but benefits from encouragement and verbal prompts when preparing meals.
We provide a comprehensive shadowing programme, ongoing coaching from a highly experienced team and specialist training including Proact-SCIPr-UK® and Positive Behaviour Support. From day one, you will be supported to develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the role.
What makes this opportunity particularly exciting is the development pathway available. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the home, with the potential to progress into an Acting Lead Support Worker opportunity. If you are ambitious, keen to build your leadership skills and want to be part of a team that genuinely promotes from within, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
Shift Pattern: Days (8am-10pm) and Sleep-ins (11pm-8am) on a rolling two-week rota, including alternate weekends.
