Support Worker – Christchurch
Part-Time – 30 Hours Per Week

At Dimensions, we're seeking compassionate and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our team in Christchurch, supporting a friendly and sociable gentleman in his 50's who has learning disabilities and lives in his own home.
About the role
As a Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in helping him maintain his independence, achieve his goals, and enjoy the activities that matter most to him. He enjoys:
- Travelling on buses and trains
- Meeting friends for lunch
- Going for walks in the local community
- Playing football and going bowling
- Planning and enjoying holidays (he loves to travel twice a year)
Although he uses limited verbal communication, he understands those around him well and enjoys social interaction and spending time with people. He has his own unique ways of expressing what he wants and needs. Don't worry if you haven't supported someone with this communication style before – full training and ongoing support will be provided.
About youYou will provide person-centred support, helping this gentleman live the life he chooses. This includes:
- Supporting him to access the community and attend social activities
- Encouraging independence and developing daily living skills
- Assisting with shopping, meal preparation and household tasks
- Supporting with budgeting and managing finances
- Providing personal care when required
- Promoting choice, dignity and well being in all aspects of daily life
Shift Pattern- Shifts are between 7:00am and 9:00pm
- 30 hours per week
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, is essential
