About the Role

  • Part time – 24 hours per week
  • £12.85 per hour
  • Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP2
  • Full UK driving licence with access to own car essential.

Looking for a role where no two days are the same and you can make a genuine difference? Join our team in Hemel Hempstead and support an inspiring young man to live the life he chooses.

Independent, ambitious and deeply involved in his community, he's someone who believes in making the most of every opportunity. A keen marathon runner, dedicated volunteer and proud Volunteer of the Year award winner, he's always setting new goals and embracing new challenges.

This year he ran the London Marathon to raise money for Dimensions' 50 Years Small Sparks Fund, helping create meaningful moments and new opportunities for people we support. His determination, positivity and commitment to others make him a fantastic person to support.

Life is busy, active and full of variety. Whether he's training with his local running club, creating woodcraft projects in his shed, following along with live cooking sessions, enjoying long walks with his dog, or spending time with family, you'll be there to encourage, enable and celebrate every achievement along the way.

As his Support Worker, you'll play a key role in helping him maintain the independence he has worked hard to build. From supporting him to plan his week and stay organised with medication and daily routines, to encouraging new experiences and helping him achieve personal goals, every day is an opportunity to make a positive impact.

You'll work a mixture of daytime shifts (9am-5pm) and evening shifts with sleep-ins (5pm-10pm plus sleep-in until he leaves for work around 8am-9am), including alternate weekends.

Because of his active lifestyle and love of getting out and about, you'll need to be a driver with access to your own vehicle (mileage expenses paid).

About You

You don't need previous experience in care. What matters most is your values, enthusiasm and desire to support someone to live a great life.

You'll be someone who can build positive relationships, spot opportunities, encourage independence and bring energy and positivity to each day. You understand that great support is about working alongside people, recognising what they can do for themselves, and helping them develop skills, confidence and new experiences.

You'll share our values of Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect, and be ready to encourage, motivate and celebrate success, whether that's completing a marathon, mastering a new skill, or simply having a great day.
