About Dimensions

You can bring your whole self to work and be celebrated for it. Inclusion, respect, and practical support ensure you feel seen, supported, and valued, so you can thrive alongside the people we support.

Thanks to our amazing teams, Dimensions Group has been accredited as a Great Place to Work for 2026 — our eighth consecutive year of recognition.

About the role

  • Support Worker
  • Part time – 12 or 22 hours per week
  • £12.85 per hour
  • Watford, WD19
  • Full UK driving licence with own car and business insurance.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Support Worker to join our team, providing one-to-one support to a gentleman in his 30s to live the life he chooses and achieve the outcomes that matter most to him.

He has a great sense of humour. He loves exploring his interests, particularly model railways, visiting coffee shops, trips to theme parks and zoos, and enjoying theatre shows. At home, you'll often find him watching YouTube, enjoying Disney classics, or catching up with programmes such as The Masked Singer.

No two days are the same. Some days are filled with adventure and excitement, while others are quieter and focused on maintaining routines, building confidence, and enjoying time at home. As his Support Worker, you'll recognise every opportunity to promote independence, develop skills, and support him to make choices about how he wants to spend his day.

The gentleman has Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), meaning that expectations and demands can sometimes feel overwhelming. You'll take a flexible and thoughtful approach, working alongside him rather than directing him, offering choices, reducing pressure, and helping him feel in control.

You'll also provide support with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, household responsibilities, health and wellbeing needs, and maintaining routines, always encouraging him to do as much as possible for himself and celebrating his achievements along the way.

A full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle, and business insurance are essential, as getting out into the community is an important part of living the life he chooses.

About You

You don't need previous experience in social care to be successful in this role. What matters most is your values, attitude, and commitment to helping someone live a great life.

You'll be someone who:

  • Enjoys building positive relationships and working in partnership with others.
  • Can communicate clearly and adapt your approach to meet individual needs.
  • Is patient, calm, and able to respond positively when plans change.
  • Recognises people's strengths and encourages independence and skill development.
  • Is comfortable supporting with personal care and everyday living tasks.
  • Can use basic digital systems to record information and contribute to support planning.

Above all, you'll share our values of Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect, and understand that great support is about enabling people to have choice, control and opportunities to achieve their goals.
