We are seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our team supporting a gentleman in his thirties. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping someone build a fulfilling life in their home and community while supporting them to achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.
This role is ideally suited to someone who already has experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autistic people, and behaviours of distress. You will be confident working proactively, building positive relationships and supporting someone with complex needs in a person-centred way.
The gentleman you will be supporting is active and enjoys attending a local day service, visiting his favourite pub for a meal, browsing pub memorabilia online, listening to music by Queen and The Rolling Stones, and spending time in the park throwing a frisbee or enjoying the swings.
As a Support Worker, you will help him maintain his independence, develop daily living skills, and establish routines within his home. You will support with meal preparation, shopping, personal care, attending health appointments and maintaining important relationships with his family. You will also encourage him to explore new opportunities and develop confidence.
